Capricorn Ridge Wind Farm

Project Details: Three transmission line EPC projects were performed for FPL Energy at the Capricorn Ridge Goat Mountain wind farm in Sterling City, TX. The first two projects for Goat Mountain and Capricorn Ridge Phase III were 138kV lines incorporating concrete direct embedded structures. In addition, a 4-mile, 345kV line on laminated wood H frame structures was installed for Capricorn Ridge Phase IV.

MYR Group managed the design, procurement and construction of these 6.5, 7 and 4 mile lines. They also installed OPGW fiber optic static lines that included testing and splicing. These projects were all installed on tight schedules with specified completion dates.
